Services for Registered Patients
These are the main services for patients registered with our GP practice:

Asthma
Asthma sufferers should have a review at least once a year with one of our nurses who specialise in asthma. Please bring your inhaler with you.

Blood tests
These are carried out by our healthcare assistants, Monday to Friday, 7 am to 12 noon. -
Cardiac Event Clinics
For patients with heart disease – by referral only. - Cervical smears

Child health and Immunisations
All children are offered immunisations against certain infectious diseases such as Tetanus, Polio, Diphtheria and others. These start when a child is 8 weeks old and continue throughout their school life. Contact the health visitor or practice nurse. -
COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)
Patients with COPD suffer from respiratory (breathing) problems. We check COPD patients regularly and offer them spirometry (a lung function test). Please bring your inhaler with you.

Patients with heart disease have regular appointments to review their progress.

Counselling/Brief Interventional Psychology
Our counsellors are highly trained and are deployed from Swindon Primary Care Psychology Service, part of Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. -
Diabetes treatment
Diabetic patients are seen at least every 6 months and more often if needed.

Family planning
We have a team of doctors and nurses who are trained family planning specialists for coils, implants etc.

Flu clinic
All patients over the age of 65, and those who are at risk, are encouraged to have 'flu jabs annually. -
Maternity care
If you think you are pregnant, make an appointment to see one of our nurses who will explain the antenatal programme and arrange for you to see a midwife.
After your baby is born, we continue to look after you both. Make a double appointment to see a GP when the baby is 8 weeks old. You can also book an appointment with the nurse to have your baby’s first immunisations done at the same time.

Minor illness
We have a 10-strong team of nurses who are trained to treat and prescribe the right medicines for minor illnesses such as sore throats, earache, urinary tract infections and chest infections. -
Minor surgery
We carry out minor operations at the practice as well as joint injections and cryotherapy (freezing) of skin tags and warts. -
Stop smoking
Our health care assistants run programmes to help patients trying to give up smoking. -
TB tests & BCG injections
We provide tests and injections for specific groups, including infants, at risk of TB.
You can also have a BCG injection for travel purposes, but there is a charge (see Travel Advice). -
Travel advice & Vaccinations
If you are travelling abroad and think you may need immunisation against certain infectious diseases such as typhoid or Hepatitis B, make an appointment with us at least 8 weeks before you go. You may have to pay for some drugs and services as they are not all free on the NHS (see Travel Advice).
