Kingswood Surgery & Carfax Medical Centre Merger
1st April 2022
Kingswood Surgery and Carfax Medical Centre are merging. Carfax Medical Centre will become a branch site of Kingswood Surgery, there is no change for you:
- You do not need to re-register
- There is no change to how appointments are booked
- There is no change on the way you access care
- There is no need to travel to a new site for an appointment
- An ‘open morning’ is planned in April to meet the team
Among the benefits of merging will be an increase in the availability of specialised staff at each site, such as mental health nurses and physiotherapists.
Dr Philip Mayes, Senior GP Partner, Kingswood Surgery, said: “The merging of the GP practices is a very positive move, and ensures that the thousands of patients registered with both practices will continue to receive an equally high standard of care. The impact of the merger will be mostly visible behind the scenes, where the team will begin to work in a joined-up way”.
Kingswood Surgery & Carfax Medical Centre are part of the Brunel Health Group primary care network of 14 Swindon GP practices.
